Thunderbird and Email Forwarding Issues
If forwarded emails are not appearing in Mozilla Thunderbird, or if Thunderbird is not showing messages that are visible in webmail, check these common causes.
IMAP Folder Subscription
Thunderbird only displays IMAP folders you are subscribed to. Right-click on your account name in the folder pane and select Subscribe. Check all the folders you want to see, including Sent, Drafts, Trash, and any custom folders. Click OK.
Server Settings for Thunderbird
- Incoming (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com, Port 993, SSL/TLS
- Outgoing (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com, Port 465 (SSL/TLS) or 587 (STARTTLS)
- Username: Your full email address
- Authentication: Normal password
Forwarding Configuration
If you have a forwarder set up in cPanel that sends copies to another address, the original message still arrives in the primary mailbox. If you are not seeing it, try clicking Get Messages in Thunderbird or check your mailbox quota in cPanel > Email Accounts to make sure it is not full.
