You can change your cPanel password from your Ultra Web Hosting client area at any time. Your cPanel password is separate from your client area (billing) password and your email account passwords. This guide covers how to change it and what to do if you've forgotten it.
Change cPanel Password in 3 Clicks
- ✓ Log into my.ultrawebhosting.com
- ✓ Click your hosting service > "Change Password"
- ✓ Enter your new password and save
01. Change Password from Client Area
- Log into my.ultrawebhosting.com with your billing account credentials
- Click on your hosting service (under Your Active Products/Services)
- Click "Change Password" in the sidebar or actions menu
- Enter your new password - use the password generator for a strong random password. The password must meet cPanel's minimum strength requirements
- Click Save Changes
The change takes effect immediately. You'll need to use the new password the next time you log into cPanel directly (via port 2083). Logging in through the client area's "Log in to cPanel" button doesn't require the cPanel password.
Changing your cPanel password also changes your FTP password for the main account (they share the same credentials). Update your FTP client settings after the change. Individual FTP accounts created in cPanel > FTP Accounts are not affected. See our FTP guide.
02. Change Password from Inside cPanel
If you're already logged into cPanel:
- Click your username in the top-right corner of cPanel
- Click "Password & Security"
- Enter your current password and your new password (twice)
- Click "Change your password now"
03. Forgot Your Password
If you can't remember your cPanel password:
- Best option: Log into your client area (billing account) and use the "Change Password" option from your service details. This resets it without needing the old one
- Can't access client area either? Use the "Forgot Password" link on the client area login page to reset your billing password first, then use that to reset your cPanel password
- Still stuck? Open a support ticket and we can reset it for you after verifying your identity
04. Which Password Is Which
Ultra Web Hosting uses three separate password systems. Changing one does not affect the others:
