An "Invalid Syntax Error" when loading cPanel usually means your browser is displaying a cached or corrupted version of the page, or there's a network issue between your browser and the server. It's rarely an actual server problem. This guide covers the fixes in order of likelihood.
Clear Your Browser Cache
This resolves the error in most cases:
- ✓ Clear browser cache and cookies for the cPanel domain
- ✓ Or try an incognito/private browsing window
- ✓ Or try a different browser entirely
01. Browser Cache and Cookies
The most common cause is stale cached JavaScript or CSS from a previous cPanel session. Clear your browser's cache and cookies:
- Chrome - Settings > Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data > select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies" > Clear Data
- Firefox - Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data
- Edge - Settings > Privacy > Choose what to clear > Cached data and cookies
After clearing, close and reopen the browser, then try cPanel again.
A quick way to test without clearing your entire cache: open an incognito/private window (Ctrl+Shift+N in Chrome, Ctrl+Shift+P in Firefox) and load cPanel there. If it works in incognito, the issue is cached data in your regular session.
02. Try a Different Browser
If clearing cache doesn't help, try a completely different browser. cPanel works best in current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. If you're using an older or non-standard browser, it may not render cPanel's JavaScript correctly.
Browser extensions (especially ad blockers, privacy extensions, and JavaScript modifiers) can also interfere with cPanel. If the error goes away in incognito mode (where extensions are typically disabled), one of your extensions is the cause.
03. Check Your URL
Make sure you're using the correct URL format:
- Correct:
https://yourserver.ultrawebhosting.com:2083 - Also correct: Log in through your client area > your service > "Log in to cPanel"
- Wrong:
http://(without the s) - cPanel requires HTTPS - Wrong: Missing the port number (
:2083)
04. Other Causes
IP Block
If cPanel doesn't load at all (timeout, connection refused), your IP may be blocked by the firewall. Visit my.ultrawebhosting.com to unblock yourself, or try logging in through the client area which uses a different port.
cPanel Update in Progress
Rarely, a cPanel software update can temporarily cause display issues. This resolves on its own within a few minutes. If it persists beyond 15 minutes, contact support.

cPanel Still Not Loading?
If none of the above fixes it, open a ticket with the browser you're using and a screenshot of the error.
