How to Set Up Email on Your iPhone or iPad

Setting Up Your Hosting Email on iPhone or iPad

Follow these steps to add your Ultra Web Hosting email account to the built-in Mail app on your iPhone or iPad. We recommend using IMAP so your email stays in sync across all your devices.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Tap Mail, then tap Accounts
  3. Tap Add Account
  4. Tap Other, then tap Add Mail Account
  5. Enter your name, full email address, password, and a description (like "Work Email")
  6. Tap Next
  7. Select IMAP at the top of the screen
  8. Fill in the server settings below
  9. Tap Save

Incoming Mail Server Settings

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
  • User Name: Your full email address (e.g., you@yourdomain.com)
  • Password: Your email password

Outgoing Mail Server Settings

  • Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
  • User Name: Your full email address
  • Password: Your email password

SSL and Port Settings

After saving, go back to Settings > Mail > Accounts > your account > Account > Advanced and verify:

  • Use SSL: ON
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • SMTP Port: 465 (with SSL) or 587 (with TLS)
  • Authentication: Password

Map Your Mailbox Folders

To make sure Sent, Drafts, and Trash sync properly, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > your account > Account > Advanced > Mailbox Behaviors. Under each category (Sent, Trash, etc.), tap it and select the matching folder under "On the Server." This ensures messages you send from your phone appear in your Sent folder on webmail and other devices.

Troubleshooting

  • Cannot verify server identity: Tap "Continue" or "Trust" if prompted. This occurs when the SSL certificate uses the server hostname rather than your domain name.
  • Cannot connect to server: Double-check that your password is correct and that SSL is enabled with the correct ports.
  • Outgoing mail not sending: Make sure SMTP authentication is turned on with your full email address and password.

If you continue to have trouble, open a support ticket and include a screenshot of your settings so we can spot the issue.
