Mailbox Shows Email But Messages Are Not Visible
If your email client or webmail shows that you have messages but they appear empty or missing, the most common causes are IMAP synchronization issues or quota problems.
IMAP Folder Subscription
IMAP folders need to be "subscribed" for their contents to be visible. In webmail (Roundcube), right-click on the folder list and select "Manage Folders" or "Manage Subscriptions" to see all available folders and make sure the ones you need are subscribed.
Mailbox Quota Full
If your mailbox has hit its storage quota, new messages may not be delivered or displayed correctly. Check your quota in cPanel > Email Accounts. If the account is near its limit, delete old messages or increase the quota.
Email Client Cache
Outlook and other desktop email clients maintain a local cache of your messages. If the cache becomes corrupted, messages may appear to be missing. Try removing the email account from your client and re-adding it. In Outlook specifically, you can also try rebuilding the OST file.
If messages are genuinely missing from the server, contact support as soon as possible. We may be able to recover them from a backup if the loss was recent.
