Transferring Your Website Hosting to Ultra Web Hosting
Moving your website to Ultra Web Hosting is straightforward. The key step is updating your domain nameservers to point to our servers. Here is how it works.
Step 1: Sign Up for a Hosting Plan
Choose a hosting plan and complete the signup process. Your hosting account will be set up within minutes and you will receive a welcome email with your cPanel login details and nameserver information.
Step 2: Upload Your Website (or Request Free Migration)
You can upload your website files via FTP or cPanel File Manager. If you have databases, recreate them in cPanel and import your data through phpMyAdmin. Alternatively, contact our support team and we will migrate your entire website, databases, and email accounts from your old host for free.
Step 3: Update Your Nameservers
Log into your domain registrar (where your domain name is registered) and change the nameservers to the ones provided in your welcome email. This tells the internet to direct visitors to our servers instead of your old host.
Step 4: Wait for DNS Propagation
After updating nameservers, it takes 24 to 48 hours for the change to propagate worldwide. During this time, some visitors may still see your old site while others see the new one. Do not cancel your old hosting until propagation is complete and everything is working on our servers.
Important Notes
- You do not need to transfer your domain registration to us. You can keep your domain registered anywhere and simply point the nameservers to our servers.
- If you do want to transfer the domain registration as well, we can handle that too. You will need to unlock the domain and provide the EPP authorization code from your current registrar.
