If you want to use a domain registered through Ultra Web Hosting with a Wix website, you need to update your domain's DNS records to point to Wix's servers. There are two methods: pointing nameservers (full DNS control goes to Wix) or adding DNS records (you keep DNS control with us).
Use DNS records, not nameservers, if you host email with us
If you have email accounts on your Ultra Web Hosting hosting plan, do NOT change your nameservers to Wix. Doing so will break your email. Instead, add Wix's required DNS records (A record and CNAME) while keeping your nameservers pointed to us. This lets your website load from Wix while your email continues to work through our servers.
01. Method 1: Change Nameservers to Wix
This method gives Wix full control of your domain's DNS. Use this only if you do NOT have email or any other services hosted with us.
- Log into Wix and go to your site's Dashboard > Settings > Domains
- Click "Connect a domain you already own"
- Choose "Point nameservers" and note the Wix nameservers provided
- Log into your Ultra Web Hosting client area at my.ultrawebhosting.com
- Go to Domains > My Domains and click on your domain
- Click "Nameservers" in the sidebar
- Replace the nameservers with the ones Wix provided
- Click "Change Nameservers"

Changing nameservers to Wix means ALL DNS for your domain is managed by Wix, including MX records (email). If you have email accounts hosted with us, your email will stop working. Use Method 2 instead.
02. Method 2: Point DNS Records (Recommended)
This method keeps your nameservers with Ultra Web Hosting and only points the website to Wix. Your email and other DNS records continue to work normally.
- Log into Wix and go to Dashboard > Settings > Domains
- Click "Connect a domain you already own"
- Choose "Point DNS records"
- Note the A record IP address and CNAME value Wix provides
- Log into cPanel at my.ultrawebhosting.com
- Go to Domains > Zone Editor
- Edit the A record for your domain (the one with just your domain name, no prefix) and change the IP address to the one Wix provided
- Add or edit a CNAME record for
wwwpointing to the value Wix provided - Click "Save"
Go back to Wix and click "Verify" once the records are saved.
03. Important: Email Considerations
If you use email on your hosting account ([email protected]):
- Method 2 is safe - Your MX records stay with us, email keeps working
- Method 1 will break email - Unless you manually recreate your MX records in Wix's DNS panel
- Check your MX records after any DNS change: cPanel > Email > Email Deliverability

How do I point my domain to Wix?
You have two options: change your domain's nameservers to Wix's (giving Wix full DNS control), or keep DNS with us and add the A and CNAME records Wix provides. Pointing the DNS records is recommended if you host email with us, so mail keeps working.
Should I change nameservers or add DNS records for Wix?
Add DNS records if you use email or other services on your UWH domain, because it keeps your MX and other records intact while sending web traffic to Wix. Change nameservers only if you want Wix to manage all DNS for the domain.
Will pointing my domain to Wix break my email?
It can, if you change nameservers to Wix, because that moves all DNS including MX to Wix. To keep your UWH email working, use the add-DNS-records method instead and leave your MX records pointing to our mail server.
Where do I change the DNS records for my domain?
If your domain uses our nameservers, edit the records in the client area or the cPanel Zone Editor: set the A record and the www CNAME to the values Wix gives you, and leave the MX records as they are so email still routes to us.
