Visitors in Certain Countries Cannot Reach My Website
If visitors in specific countries (commonly China, Russia, or other regions) cannot access your website while it works fine for others, there are a few possible causes.
Firewall Country Blocking
Our server firewall (CSF) can be configured to block entire country IP ranges. This is sometimes done to reduce spam, brute force attacks, or other malicious traffic from regions where a site has no legitimate visitors. If your website needs to be accessible from a blocked country, contact support and we can review the firewall rules.
Network Routing Issues
Some international visitors may experience routing issues that are outside our control. Internet traffic between countries passes through many networks, and problems at any point along the route can cause slow loading or timeouts. These issues are usually temporary.
The Great Firewall (China)
China operates extensive internet filtering. If your site is not accessible from mainland China, it may be blocked by their national firewall. Using a CDN like Cloudflare can sometimes improve accessibility in China by routing traffic through their global network, though it is not guaranteed.
Testing Accessibility
You can test whether your site loads from various countries using tools like host-tracker.com or check-host.net. These tools run checks from servers around the world and show you where your site is reachable and where it is not.
