Setting Up Email on a Galaxy Device

Setting Up Email on a Samsung Galaxy Phone

Follow these steps to add your hosting email to a Samsung Galaxy device using the built-in Email app or Gmail app.

Using the Samsung Email App

  1. Open the Email app (or go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Email)
  2. Enter your full email address and password
  3. Select Manual Setup (do not let it auto-detect)
  4. Choose IMAP Account
  5. Enter the server settings below

Server Settings

  • Incoming (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.com, Port 993, Security: SSL/TLS
  • Outgoing (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com, Port 465, Security: SSL/TLS
  • Username: Your full email address
  • Authentication: Normal password for both

Certificate Warning

Samsung devices may show a certificate warning because the server SSL uses the server hostname. Tap Accept or Trust to proceed. This does not affect the security of your connection.

You can also use the Gmail app on Samsung devices. See our article on setting up email on Android for Gmail app instructions.
